What are the main differences between VendVision’s and its competitors? Answer: VendVision was one of the founding companies to pave the way for DVD units in the U.S. Our company has the most experience and strives toward building long-term relationships. Secondly our product is built in the U.S with the newest technology available to reduce maintenance. Thirdly VendVision, Inc. kiosk has integrated new technologies modules for future use such as movie and music downloading.
Where do I get the movies? Answer: Our competitors will tell you they have struck a deal with wholesalers to get discounts. The fact is anyone can open up an account with these wholesalers and receive the same discount rates. However, as the owner of the kiosk, you are free to purchase movies from any source. New Release DVD shipments from the distributor are typically delivered 5 days prior to a Tuesday release
Is VendVision, Inc. a registered with the State? Answer: Yes, you may check with Texas Secretary of State for our registration and licensing.
Will I need Insurance? Answer: Yes, the Movie Studio DVD machines are investments and you want to protect it. Many locations will require insurance.
How many machines do you recommend starting with? Answer: One machine is fine but it’s really the purchaser decision.
How do customers pay for movies? Answer: The Movie Express24 Series accepts most major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Will I need a website? Answer: VendVision recommends a website for your promotions, online reservations, customer support and establishing your company identity but is not necessary.
How many DVDs can the customer rent at a time? Answer: The DVD kiosk can be set to rent as many as five DVDs at a time and customers can return them whenever choose.
When do I update the kiosks with new releases? Answer: Each week new titles are added. Usually Tuesdays.
Is the customer’s credit card number safe? What is the credit card security? Answer: The kiosks use the most secure method of credit card transactions. The credit card number is not stored locally and is encrypted in all transactions going to and from the bank.
Can customers rent movies online (Reserve) and pick up at a kiosk? Answer: Yes, they simply visit the kiosk and sign up. An Email address must be submitted in order to use the Web Reservation System. They will automatically receive an email inviting them to use the new online system. The customer would follow the instructions outlined in the email asking them to set up a password for their Web Reservation account. The password can be different than their in-store password.
How does a customer pick the movie up when they reserve on the Web Reservation System? Answer: Collecting a reserved DVD(s) is quick and simple. At the kiosk, the customer touch RENT & BUY button then swipe their credit card (making sure it’s the one they used to open the account). The reserved DVD’s will already be in their shopping cart. The customer then press the checkout button and the DVD will be dispensed. The account is only valid at the kiosk where they originally signed up.
What type of Internet connection does the machine require? Answer: A DSL, T1 or Cable connection is best.
How much is training? Answer: Training can be done at the kiosk installed location or at our facilities. The cost is $795 incuding installation paid in advance. By appointment only.
What power supply does the machine require? Answer: Power supply 110 and will customize to 220v.
How much to give the location to lease space? Answer: We recommend 0-20% of the profits.
How much can I expect to make? Answer: This will depend on several different factors such as the type of location, Inventory cost, rental price, cost to lease space and the number of rentals per day. We will not state any income earning potential because we don’t know. We sell the hardware and our partner companies provide software support. Each owner runs the business differently as any other business.
Does the kiosk issue paper receipts? Answer: The kiosk does not print out receipts. A customer can enter their email address and a receipt will be emailed after the rental is returned.
Is the Movie Downloading Technology available? Answer: The movie download technology is incorporated in the software but turned off. This form of entertainment distribution is expected to become very popular in the next few years. Our units will only require a software patch and a minimal hardware upgrade.
What warranty comes with the machine? Answer: The VendVision Kiosk is covered with a one-year parts and labor warranty. This is not to be confused with our support, which the manufacture provides for as long as you own the machine. Extended warranties are also available.
